I recently had a chance to work with some great carpenters and crew. This residential construction job at a Berkeley mansion took about 5 years to complete. It was an astronomical amount of fine detailed wood work and home design. Everything was custom lighting and special hardware and every inch was either originally constructed or totally re-done from the bones. There were many impressive trades doing high quality work here. I helped with many aspects of this work and learned a whole lot about carpentry, residential construction and being on a crew of this kind. As I bobbed and weaved in and out of work being done, walls not to ding, art not to ruin, lights not to break, and equipment not to disrupt, I also just wanted to be making a documentary about it all. Here are some pics from a perspective that I think shows the work in interesting ways. Thanks again guys for letting me soak it all in.
